Response to Intervention (RtI) has been described in Florida as a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) for providing high quality instruction and intervention matched to student needs using learning rate over time and level of performance to inform instructional decisions.
Phase 1 of implementation for Problem-solving and Response to Instruction/Intervention, came to a close in 2011. Phase II of the statewide implementation of a MTSS has emerged. Read more about the history and future of MTSS in Florida.
This system is depicted as a three-tiered framework that uses increasingly more intense instruction and interventions matched to need.
